The Twins fell to the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 Monday night at Busch Stadium. The loss drops the Twins to 34-29 on the season, 2.5 games behind Kansas City in the American League Central Division.

The Twins trailed 3-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning when Kurt Suzuki drove in Trevor Plouffe with a single. Byron Buxton collected his first MLB hit in the top of the eighth inning with a triple and eventually scored on a Brian Dozier sacrifice fly.

Minnesota takes on the Cardinals again Tuesday afternoon in St. Louis before hosting the Cards Wednesday and Thursday at Target Field. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 12:45 on WJON.
