The Twins are expected to call up journeyman first baseball/outfielder Chris Colabello from triple-A Rochester after optioning outfielders Chris Parmelee and Oswaldo Arcia and utility infielder Eduardo Escobar to triple-A.

Colabello is a 29-year old Italian who isn't considered a top prospect but has been beating up triple-A pitching with a .354 batting average, 24 homeruns and 76 RBIs.  He had a brief stint with the Twins earlier this season and was 2-16, a .125 batting average.

The Twins are expected to give Colabello regular at-bats to see if his triple-A success can turn into something in the Major Leagues.  It's rare when a player blossoms late in his 20s and some experts don't expect him to have the same type of success in the major leagues.
