Twins Edge Rangers 6-5 to End Skid
The Twins defeated Texas 6-5 Sunday in Texas close a 10-game road trip with a 2-8 record. The Twins had lost 10 of their last 11 games heading into the game yesterday. Ben Revere went 4-4 with a triple, 3 runs scored and 1 RBI and Denard Span went 2-5 with 2 runs scored for the Twins. Cole DeVries threw 5 innings with 3 hits and 2 runs allowed (1 earned) to get the win and improve to 3-5. Glen Perkins threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save, his 8th.
The Twins are 52-75 and are 19 1/2 games back of the Chicago White Sox for first place in the American League Central. Minnesota will host Seattle beginning a 4-game homestand and 4-game series tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40. Righthander Liam Hendriks (0-6) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Felix Hernandez (12-5) toes the rubber for the Mariners.
