OAKLAND - The Twins fell to the Oakland Athletics 9-1 yesterday at the Oakland Coliseum, as the Athletics reduced their magic number to one to clinch the American League West.

The Twins have now lost five straight against the Athletics.  The Twins have allowed at least eight runs in each of the five defeats to Oakland.

Twins starter Pedro Hernandez only lasted two innings, giving up six runs on eight hits in the loss.

Twins catcher Josmil Pinto continues to be a bright spot for the Twins this season.

The catcher went 2-3 with a home run in the loss, in 15 games with the Twins Pinto has batter .377
