Twins Can’t Buy A Run Against Rangers Wednesday
The Rangers beat the Twins 1-0 Wednesday night at Target Field. Minnesota once again struggled to come through with runners in scoring position, going 0-8 while leaving nine runners on base.
Kyle Gibson pitched well for the Twins, lasting six innings without allowing a run on six hits with four strikeouts and no walks. Jared Burton took the loss for Minnesota after allowing a run on two hits in the seventh inning.
The Twins and Rangers wrap up their series with a 12:10 game at Target Field on Thursday. Sam Deduno (1-3, 3.48) will start for the Twins opposite Texas righty Nick Martinez (1-1, 2.14).
