Twins Beat Padres To Complete Sweep
The Twins defeated the San Diego Padres 5-4 Sunday afternoon to complete a 3-game sweep of San Diego this weekend. Minnesota has won 7 straight games and 14 of their last 16.
The Twins have moved ahead of Kansas City into 4th place in the American League Central just 8 games back of Cleveland for first place in the Division.
The Twins scored the game-winning run on a RBI single from Drew Butera scoring Delmon Young from 2nd base to end the game in the 9th inning. Alexi Casilla hit a solo homerun and Delmon Young had 2 hits for Minnesota. The Twins are 31-39 and will take the day off Monday before playing a 3-game series in interleague play at San Francisco at 9:15, pregame on WJON at 8:45.
