Twins righthanded starting pitcher Scott Baker will have surgery to repair the flexor pronator tendon in his right elbow and will not play this season.  The tendon has bothered Baker for the last couple of seasons and he says he can no longer pitch with the pain.  The surgery will require 6 months of recap but the surgery is not Tommy John surgery.

Baker was 8-6 with a 3.14 ERA for the Twins in 2011.  Baker could become a free agent at the end of the season if the Twins elect not to pick the $9 Million option on his contract after this season.
