Trout Stars As American League Tops NL At All Star Game

The American League defeated the National League 5-3 at the MLB All Star Game at Target Field Tuesday night.

Mike Trout was named MVP of the game after going 2-3 on the night including an RBI triple in the first inning. Derek Jeter went 2-2 in what is expected to be his final All Star Game with a double to lead off the first inning and a single.

Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki entered the game in the ninth inning to catch his teammate Glen Perkins. Perkins earned the save for the American League with a perfect ninth inning.
