Tracey Claeys has reportedly been fired as Gophers head football coach. A meeting that included Athletic Director Mark Coyle and President Eric Kaler took place today where this decision was made.

The Star Tribune and Fan Radio Network's Mark Rosen were the first to report this story.

The decision was made after Claeys publicly supported his players who boycotted the suspensions of 10 players. Those ten players were suspended for their involvement in an investigated sexual assault. None of those ten players were charged by law enforcement.

The Gophers had their best season this year under Claeys going 9-4 including a win in the Holiday Bowl last week.
