The Timberwolves drafted 6'8 forward Robbie Hummel with the 58th overall pick in the Thursday night NBA draft.  Hummel averaged 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds a game in his senior season at Purdue.  He suffered a torn ACL in his right knee twice in his college career.  He missed all of 2010-2011 because of the 2nd tear.  Hummel is considered an injury risk but is known as an outstanding outside shooter.

The Wolves reportedly offered 6'8 forward Derrick Willliams to Charlotte for the 2nd overall pick in last night's draft with hopes of eventually landing foward Pau Gasol from the Lakers.  Charlotte turned down the Timberwolves offer and picked 6'7 forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of Kentucky instead.

New Orleans had the first pick and chose 6'10 forward Anthony Davis from Kentucky.  Royce White of Iowa State was picked #16 overall in the first round by Houston.
