MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves scored 39 points in the first quarter and never looked back, downing the Detroit Pistons 114-101 on Friday night.

Kevin Love led the Wolves with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Love now has a league leading 51 double-doubles this season. Ricky Rubio came close to a triple-double with 11 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

Greg Monroe led Detroit with 20 points and 15 rebounds in the contest.

The Timberwolves improve to 31-30 with the win. They return to action at home on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
