The Timberwolves have agreed to sign Russian free agent combo guard Alexey Shved.  Shved is considered a playmaker who has been playing professionally in Russia.  He is 23 and will be 24 in December.  Shved helped Russa qualify for the Olympics with a win over Nigeria on Saturday.

The Wolves will likely buyout center Brad Miller, guard Martell Webster, and center Darko Millicic.

Minnesota is waiting to see if Portland will match the $45 Million offer sheet they agreed to sign 6'8 small forward Nicolas Batum to.  Portland has until Saturday to match the offer or work out a sign and trade deal with Minnesota.

The Timberwolves announced they will play a preseason game in Winnipeg on October 24 against Detroit.  Minnesota has also added free agent shooting guard William Buford to their summer league roster.  Buford played college basketball at Ohio State.
