The Detroit Tigers beat the Twins 2-1 Sunday afternoon to complete a 3-game sweep.  Doug Fister threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed to get the win for Detroit.  Scott Diamond allowed 7 hits and 1 earned run in 6 innings to take the loss for the Twins.  Minnesota managed just 4 hits with both Chris Parmelee and Joe Benson each going 1-3.

The Twins are 59-87 and will get the day off today and will begin a 2-game series at Kansas City Tuesday night at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander Carl Pavano (8-11) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Bruce Chen (10-7) toes the rubber for the Royals.
