St. Cloud State men's hockey senior forward Cory Thorson was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last weekend at Alabama-Huntsville.

The Crystal, Minnesota native notched five points in the two game series with three goals and two assists. Four of those points came in Friday's 10-0 win, with Thorson tallying two goals and two assists.

Thorson left Saturday's 4-3 win over the Chargers with an upper body injury. His status for this weekend's series with Colorado College at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center is not clear at this time.

Thorson is the fifth Husky to win an NCHC player of the week award this season.
