Twins’ Castro Out for the Year
Twins catcher Jason Castro is lost for the season with a knee injury. Castro had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in Colorado this morning. The 30-year old catcher had been bothered by knee injuries for years but the injury recently had become tough to manage.
Twins Recall John Curtiss; Duffey Optioned
The Twins have recalled right handed relief pitcher John Curtiss from Triple-A Rochester and have optioned right handed pitcher Tyler Duffey. Curtiss compiled a 2.89 ERA over five relief appearances at Triple-A this season, striking out 17 batters and walking just two over 9 1/3 innings.
Yankees Beat Twins Again
The Twins have now lost 6 games in a row after falling 7-4 at New York to the Yankees Wednesday night. Miguel Sano hit a 1st inning 2-run home run but the Yankees came back with 4 runs in the 3rd inning.

The Twins blanked the Orioles 7-0 in Baltimore yesterday to take 2 of 3 from the Orioles over the weekend. Jose Berrios threw the complete game 3-hit shutout with 1 walk allowed and 6 strikeouts. He needed 102 pitched to complete the game.
Orioles Walk-Off Twins In Season Opener
The Twins lost 3-2 in 11 innings in Baltimore yesterday on a walk-off solo home run from Adam Jones against Twins' closer Fernando Rodney. The Twins rallied to tie the game in the 9th inning on a 2-run bloop pinch hit single from Robbie Grossman.
Twins’ Polanco Suspended 80 Games
Twins' shortstop Jorge Polanco has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. The commissioner's office says Polanco tested positive for Stanozolol. Polanco hit .256 with 13 homeruns and 74 RBIs last season in 127 games.
