Scott Diamond threw 7 innings with 7 hits and 3 runs (0 earned) with 2 strikeouts and no walks to get the win and improve to 4-1. Matt Capps threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save, his 12th. Trevor Plouffe went 3-4 with a run scored, Josh Willingham had 2 hits, a run and 1 RBI and Brian Dozier went 2-3 with a run scored for the Twins.

The Twins downed Cleveland 7-4 Saturday night behind solid performances from Trevor Plouffe and Joe Mauer. Mauer was 3-5 with a 2-run homerun and 3 RBIs on the night and Plouffe was 2-4 with a solo homerun and 3 RBIs on the night. Ben Revere and Denard Span each added 2 hits and Revere scored 2 runs. P.J. Walters started the game but didn't hang around long enough to get the win. He allowed 8 hits and 4 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.

The Twins closed the season Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over Kansas City at Target Field. Trevor Plouffe singled in Denard Span in the 9th inning to earn the Twins a walk-off victory. Carl Pavano threw the complete-game 5-hit shutout with 3 strikeouts and no walks to get the win and improve to 9-13.

The Twins recalled infielder/outfielder Trevor Plouffe Sunday and he's expected to see regular at-bats the rest of the season. Plouffe played left field Monday night after Delmon Young was traded in the afternoon but Plouffe could play 2nd base and shortstop too. He was drafted as a shortstop and was playing there in the minor league until recently.

The Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 8-4 at Target Field Thursday night. Minnesota fell behind 3-0 before scoring 4 runs in the 5th inning capped by Trevor Plouffe's 2-run homerun. Delmon Young went 3-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Joe Mauer drove in 2 runs for the Twins. Francisco Liriano allowed 7 hits and 3 runs (1 earned) in 7 innings to get the win and improve to 6-7.
Plouffe Will Stay When Nishioka Returns
The Twins will have a decision to make when 2nd baseman/shortstop Tsuyoshi Nishioka returns from a broken leg. Nishioka is close and could be back within a couple of weeks. When that happens the Twins have to decide if Nishioka is a 2nd baseman or shortstop and if Plouffe stays or Casilla stays.

The Twins earned their 2nd straight win Wednesday night with a 4-3 win in 10 innings at Oakland against the A's. Trevor Plouffe drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning scoring Delmon Young. Plouffe was 2-4 with 3 RBIs on the night and Justin Morneau was 2-4 with 1 RBI for Minnesota.
