The Timberwolves lost 118-107 Wednesday night at home against Memphis. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says this was the worst loss of the season. He says this because Minnesota had both Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Okogie back in the lineup and Memphis was playing without their top two players Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Timberwolves ended their 7-game losing streak with a 96-88 win over San Antonio at Target Center Sunday night. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Wolves know they need to play better defense if they are going to win games and a step toward that was made last night.

The Timberwolves lost their 6th straight game 135-117 Thursday night in Portland to fall to 2-6. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Wolves have so many issues on defense and don't seem to be playing with the effort needed. He says many of their players are asked to do things they aren't capable of.

The Timberwolves lost their 5th straight game Tuesday night in Denver 123-116. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says they did see some positives including a solid offensive game from D'Angelo Russell and from forward Juancho Hernangomez and energy off the bench from Jared Vanderbilt.

The Timberwolves lost their 2nd game in a row in Los Angeles this time to the Clippers 124-101. Minnesota took an early lead but trailed 33-29 after 1 quarter and were down 20 points at halftime. The Wolves shot just 42 percent from the field while the Clippers shot 53 percent.

The Timberwolves suffered their first loss of the season Sunday night 127-91 in Los Angeles to the Lakers. Minnesota played without Karl-Anthony Towns who missed the game with a dislocated wrist. It's unclear how long he might be out.

The Timberwolves open the 2020-2021 season tonight at home against the Detroit Pistons. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Timberwolves can play better defense and it could start tonight. He says young players can become better defensive players.

The Vikings lost to the Bears 33-27 Sunday to fall to 6-8 on the season. The Timberwolves begin the 2020-2021 season Wednesday night at 7pm against Detroit, pregame on WJON at 6:30. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me Monday and Tuesday on WJON.

The Timberwolves won 129-127 in overtime at Dallas against the Mavericks Thursday night. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Wolves' best players are their guards and wings which could lead them to playing a lot of smaller lineups this season.

The Timberwolves won the draft lottery Thursday night and now own the 1st overall pick in the October 16th NBA draft. The Wolves have some options with that first pick but their isn't a clear cut favorite yet.
