St. Cloud State junior quarterback Phil Klaphake has been named one of 24 finalists for the top player in Division II college football, the Harlon Hill Trophy. Klaphake threw for 2,519 yards and 26 touchdowns and has run for 460 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Huskies in 2012. He ranks in the top three in the NSIC in passing average per game, total offense and pass efficiency.

The St. Cloud State football team will close the 2012 season at Minnesota State-Moorhead at 1pm Saturday. The Huskies are coming off a 57-10 blowout win at Minot State Saturday to end their 2-game losing streak. Ledell White had a breakout game for the Huskies with 160 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Michael Walker ran for 100 yards and 1 touchdown for the Huskies.

The St. Cloud State football team lost 37-20 Saturday afternoon to Bemidji State to suffer their 2nd straight loss and drop to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the North Division of the NSIC. Bemidj State led by 10 at halftime and didn't trail after that. Philip Klaphake threw for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and was SCSU's leading rusher with 47 yards.

The St. Cloud State football team saw their 4-game win streak come to an end Saturday with a 28-27 loss at Nothern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota. SCSU trailed 14-7 at halftime and 21-7 after 3 quarters. The Huskies outscored the Wolves 20-7 in the 4th quarter. SCSU took a 27-21 lead on a Phil Klaphake 2-run TD run with :42 left but the extra point was blocked. Nothern State won the game on a 34-yard touchdown pass on the last play of the game. They made their extra point to win it.

The St. Cloud State football team travels to Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota this Saturday to play the Wolves at 2:30pm. SCSU has won 4 games in a row and is 5-2 on the season. The Huskies are coming off a blowout win over the University of Mary at home 55-13 last Saturday. The St. Cloud State football team won their 5th straight game 55-13 Saturday afternoon against the University of Mary. The Huskies led 35-0 at halftime and were never threatened. SCSU outgained Mary 532-286. Michael Walker ran for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns and Phil Klaphake threw for 187 yards and 4 touchdowns for SCSU. Renard Robinson had 3 catches for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Huskies.

The St. Cloud State football team is 4-2 after winning 36-24 at MN-Crookston last Saturday. The Huskies are unbeaten in the North Half of the NSIC standings at 2-0. SCSU knocked off then 2nd ranked Minnesota-Duluth more than a week ago and have a winnable schedule remaining. The Huskies will play at home against the University of Mary Saturday at 1pm.
