SCSU Baseball Hosts NCAA D-II Central Regional Today
The St. Cloud State baseball team hosts the NCAA Division II Central Regional at Joe Faber Field today. SCSU is the #1 seed and will play 6th seeded Augustana at 7pm tonight. The first game of the day is at noon when 2nd seeded Mesa State plays #5 Winona State and then 3rd seed Minnesota State-Mankato will play #4 Nebraska-Kearney at 3:30.

With the Twins struggling and coming off a disappointing winter sports season from the Timberwolves, Wild and Gophers we need something positive on the sports scene. Look local to Sauk Rapids-Rice, Apollo, Rocori and Cathedral baseball. All 4 have a shot to make a run at the state tournament and Cathedral had been ranked #1 in the state in Class 2A.
SCSU Baseball Wins NSIC Title
NSIC Tournament Championship St. Cloud State 5, Winona State 3 (It's the first NSIC tournament title for St. Cloud State in school history. SCSU won a North Central Conference title in 1991. The Huskies won 4 straight games after losing their tournament opener against Augustana Wednesday.
SCSU Baseball Falls In NSIC Tournament
The St. Cloud State baseball team lost 5-4 to Augustana in their first game of the NSIC tournament at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato. Augustana broke the 4-all tie with a run in the 9th inning. Travis Cariveau had 2 hits including a homerun for the Huskies.
SCSU’s Smith Is NSIC Player Of The Year
St. Cloud State third baseman Jordan Smith was selected as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference baseball player of the year Monday. He led the league with a .477 batting average with 7 homeruns and 92 total bases. Smith was also named first team all conference.

College Baseball: St. Cloud State 18, Concordia-St. Paul 6 (The 2nd game was cancelled due to rain. Travis Cariveau, Jordan Smith and Joey Althoff each hit homeruns for the Huskies. SCSU is 38-8 overall and seeded #2 in the upcoming NSIC tournament. SCSU begins play in the NSIC
College Baseball Results; SCSU Blanks Northern State
#13 St. Cloud State 10, Northern State 0 (Scott Leiser threw a 7-inning no-hitter for St. Cloud State. Jordan Smith went 2-3 with 2 RBIs for the Huskies. SCSU is 17-6 in the NSIC and 29-8 overall. The game was moved to Carlos because of field conditions at Putz and Faber Fields. Northern State forfeited the 2nd game).
