The White Sox down the Twins 3-2 Wednesday afternoon at Target Field. Alejandro De Aza had a infield single in the 8th inning scoring the go-ahead run. Scott Diamond allowed 8 hits and 3 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 9-5. Ben Revere went 2-4 to extend his hitting streak to 15 games and Danny Valencia hit a solo homerun for Minnesota.
Royals Top Twins 7-3
The Twins lost 7-3 to the Royals in Kansas City Saturday night. The Royals scored 2 runs in the 5th inning to break a 2-all tie. Chris Parmelee was 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI and both Joe Mauer and Jamey Carroll were 1-3 with 1 RBI for Minnesota. Scott Diamond allowed 10 hits and 4 earned runs in 6 innings to take the loss for the Twins and drop to 8-4.
Twins Rout Orioles 19-7
The Twins pounded the Baltimore Orioles 19-7 Monday night. Minnesota had 20 hits in the game. Denard Span led the Twins going 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs, Justin Morneau had 4 hits and 3 RBIs, Ben Revere had 4 hits with 3 RBIs and Joe Mauer hit a solo homerun, his 6th. Scott Diamond threw the first 6 innings with 9 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 8-3.
Tigers Beat Bullpen, Twins 7-3
The Twins lost 7-3 at Detroit Thursday afternoon and settle for a split in the 4-game series. Detroit scored 5 runs in the 8th off the Twins' bullpen. Tyler Robertson allowed a 3-run homerun to Prince Fielder for the big blow. Alex Burnett allowed 2 hits and 3 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning to take the loss. Scott Diamond started the game for the Twins and threw 7 innings with 5 hits and 2 earned runs allowed but didn't figure in the final decision.

The Twins came from behind Sunday afternoon to beat the Reds 4-3. Josh Willingham hit a 2-run homerun off Aroldis Chapman in the 9th inning to turn a 3-2 deficit to a 4-3 lead. Trevor Plouffe hit a solo homerun and Joe Mauer was 2-4 with a run scored for Minnesota. Scott Diamond threw 8 innings with 8 hits and 3 earned runs to get the win and improve to 6-3. Jared Burton threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save.
Pirates Down Twins 7-2
The Twins lost 7-2 at Pittsburgh Tuesday night to suffer their 5th loss in their last 6 games. Denard Span hit a 2-run homerun accounting for the lone Twins' runs. Trevor Plouffe was 2-3 for Minnesota. Scott Diamond allowed 8 hits and 4 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Twins. Kevin Correia threw 5 shutout innings with 4 hits allowed to get the win for the Pirates.
Twins Start 3-Game Series at Pittsburgh
The Twins begin a 3-game series at Pittsburgh Tuesday night at 6:05, pregame on WJON at 5:35. Lefthander Scott Diamond (5-2) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Kevin Correia (2-6) toes the rubber for the Pirates. The Twins are 26-39 and trail the White Sox by 8 games for first place in the American League Central.

The Twins lost 6-1 at home to the Philllies Thursday night. Philadelphia takes 2 out of 3 this week from the Twins at Target Field. Joe Blanton threw a complete-game with 7 hits and 1 earned runs allowed to get the win. Scott Diamond allowed 5 hits and 4 earned runs in 6 innings to take the loss for the Twins. Jim Thome hit a 3-run homerun for the Phillies and Trevor Plouffe hit a solo homerun for the Twins. Alexi Casilla and Joe Mauer each had 2 hits for Minnesota.
Twins, Mauer Pound Cubs 11-3
The Twins defeated the Chicago Cubs 11-3 Saturday afternoon behind Joe Mauer. Mauer had missed 4 games with a thumb injury but in his first game back was 3-4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs. Trevor Plouffe had another solid game going 2-4 with his 9th homerun of the season. Justin Morneau went 2-2 with 2 runs scored for Minnesota. Scott Diamond threw 6 shutout innings with 7 hits allowed with 5 strikeouts to get the win and improve to 5-1.
