Percy Harvin

The Vikings earned their 2nd win of the season and their first road win 24-21 at Carolina Sunday afternoon. Minnesota got a 31-yard field goal from Ryan Longwell with 2:43 left to break a 21-all tie with Carolina. The Panthers had a chance to tie the game with :26 left when Olindo Mare missed a 31-yard field goal wide left.

The Vikings welcomed both running back Adrian Peterson and receiver Percy Harvin back to practice in a limited capacity Thursday. Peterson (ankle) missed practice Wednesday but was limited yesterday. Harvin (ribs) missed practice Wednesday but was limited yesterday. Peterson almost certainly will play at Carolina Sunday while Harvin is a little more questionable.

Viking receiver Percy Harvin missed practice Thursday because of sore ribs. Harvin missed time in training camp because of this injury and aggravated the injury Sunday against Arizona. Minnesota head coach Leslie Frazier expects Harvin to play Sunday night at Chicago at 7:20, pregame on WJON at 6:00.

Vikings' receiver Percy Harvin is lobbying hard to return kicks for the Vikings Sunday when they play at San Diego. Head coach Leslie Frazier is considering using Harvin in that role but could use Lorenzo Booker as the return man as well. The Vikings are 9-point underdogs Sunday at San Diego, kickoff at 3:15, pregame on WJON at 2:00.

The Vikings will have to play without receiver Percy Harvin (ribs) and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe (hamstring) Saturday night when they play their 2nd of 4 preseason games at Seattle at 9pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 8:00. Harvin missed practice time this week with a rib injury while Shiancoe will miss his 2nd straight game with a hamstring strain.

The Vikings practiced Wednesday without receiver Percy Harvin. Harvin sat out with a rib injury he aggravated Tuesday. His backup as a slot receiver Greg Camarillo missed practice as well with a sore groin. Both are questionable to play Saturday night at Seattle at 9pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 8:00.

Viking receiver Percy Harvin left practice early Tuesday and was tended to in the shelter that adjoins the Winter Park practice fields. He watched the rest of the practice from there. Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave addressed the media but didn't know the reason for Harvin's absence but did speculate that maybe his ribs were bothering him.
