Madieu Williams

The Vikings released safety Madieu Williams, defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and receiver Freddie Brown Thursday. Williams was due to make $5.5 Million this season and hasn't lived up to expectations. Kennedy and Brown were expected to be released. The Vikings did not release receiver Bernard Berrian yet.

Minnesota Viking safety Madieu Williams won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his charitable endeavors. The award was announced Sunday at the Super Bowl. The award recognizes community service in addition to contributing on the field.
