The Yankees defeated the Twins 6-3 Monday night behind the pitching of veteran Andy Pettitte. Pettitte threw 7 shutout innings with 7 hits allowed to get the win and improve to 5-3. Liam Hendriks allowed 8 hits, 4 homeruns, and 6 earned runs in 6 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 1-8. Pedro Florimon went 2-4 with a solo homerun for the Twins. Chris Parmelee hit a 2-run triple for the Twins.
Twins Edge Cleveland For Hendriks’ First Win
The Twins defeated Cleveland 6-4 Wednesday night and pitcher Liam Hendriks earned his first major league win after numerous trys. Hendriks threw 6 innings with 2 hits and 2 earned runs allowed. He improves to 1-7 this season. Glen Perkins threw a scoreless 9th inning to grab his 13th save this year. Josh Willingham was 4-5 with a 2-run homerun with 4 RBIs. The Twins lost 1-0 at home to the Seattle Mariners Monday night. Felix Hernandez out-dueled Liam Hendriks to get the win. Hernandez allowed just 5 hits in 9 innings with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. Hendriks made his best start as a Twin. He allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks to take the loss and drop to 0-7. Eric Thames hit a solo homerun off Hendriks in the 8th inning to break the scoreless tie. Justin Morneau tripled to lead off the 7th inning but the Twins couldn't get him in.

The Twins lost the rubber game of the 3-game series at Oakland against the Athletics Wednesday afternoon. CoCo Crisp went 3-3 with a homerun and 2 RBIs for the Athletics. Tommy Millone threw 8 innings with 2 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win. Liam Hendriks allowed 6 hits and 4 earned runs allowed in 5 innings to take the loss and drop to 0-6. Matt Carson had 2 of the 3 Twins hits.
Twins Recall Hendriks; He’ll start Wednesday
The Twins have recalled righthander Liam Hendriks from triple-A Rochester to replace Nick Blackburn in the starting rotation. This will be his 3rd stint with the Twins this season. He was 0-5 with a 7.04 in 38 1/3 innings while with Minnesota. For triple-A Rochester he was 9-3 with a 2.20 ERA in 106 1/3 innings. Hendriks is expected to start against the A's on Wednesday afternoon.

Liam Hendriks thew 6 1/3 innings with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-5. Alex Rios hit a 2-run homerun off Hendriks.

Howie Kendrick went 4-4 with a homerun, 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs for the Angels.

The Twins lost 7-6 at home to the Boston Red Sox Wednesday night despite a feverish comeback. Minnesota fell behind 7-1 before scoring 5 runs in the 6th inning to cut the lead to 7-6. Sean Burroughs grounded into a double-play to end the inning and end the rally. Joe Mauer went 2-5 at the plate with 2 RBIs, Alexi Casilla was 3-4 with a run and 1 RBI, Ben Revere was 2-5 with 2 runs scored and Justin Morneau added 2 hits including a RBI double for the Twins.
