The Twins lost 7-1 in Detroit to the Tigers Thursday afternoon. The game was delayed more than 3 hours due to rain and inclement weather. Kyle Gibson threw just 3 2/3 innings with 8 hits, 5 walks and 6 earned runs allowed.

The Twins have added 8 players to their 40-man Major League roster and invite each player to spring training with a chance to make the team. Among the 8 players added are righthanded starting pitcher Kyle Gibson, who is coming off elbow surgery. Gibson was 3-2 with a 5.40 ERA pitching in the Arizona Fall League.

The Twins begin their season Friday when they play at Toronto against the Blue Jays. Last year's team easily won the American League Central Division but were quickly eliminated by the Yankees in the ALDS. The Twins were lacking a true ace starting pitcher last season and still lack that this season.
