The Twins lost 3-1 at Baltimore Sunday as the Orioles completed the sweep of Minnesota. Jason Hammel took a no-hitter into the 8th inning before Justin Morneau's double broke-up the no-hitter to lead off the 8th inning. Josh Willingham doubled Morneau in to scored the lone Twins' run. Anthony Swarzak threw 5 innings with 1 earned run allowed to take the loss. Swarzak started in place of Liam Hendriks. Hendriks couldn't pitch because of food poisioning.

The Twins lost 6-2 in exhibition play to Tampa Bay in Fort Myers, Florida Tuesday afternoon. Josh Willingham went 2-3 with 1 RBI and Justin Morneau had a RBI double for the Twins. Liam Hendriks started the game for Minnesota and threw 5 1/3 innings with 9 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to take the loss.

The Twins tied Tampa Bay 6-6 in an exhibition game Monday afternoon in Florida. Danny Valencia went 3-4 with a homerun and 2 RBIs and Luke Hughes hit a solo homerun for Minnesota. Francisco Liriano threw 5 innings with 7 hits and 1 earned run allowed with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk for the Twins.

The Twins beat the Phillies in Fort Myers, Florida 11-7 Wednesday afternoon. Justin Morneau went 3-4 with a homerun with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs, Luke Hughes went 2-4 with a homerun and 3 RBIs and Joe Mauer went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI for the Twins. Francisco Liriano threw 4 innings with 8 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win.

The Twins indicated on their website that Justin Morneau continues to see time at designated hitter instead of first base to reduce the wear and tear on Morneau's body. Justin Morneau has a history of concussions and his doctors told him that he's more likely to get a concussion if he is worn down. The Twins arn't taking any chances by putting Morneau in the field over the past 2 weeks.

Morneau has been battling concussion symptoms and other injuries over the past 2 seasons but says he feels good after a week of spring training. Morneau hit a double and a homerun in batting practice against Francisco Liriano Tuesday.

The Twins start full squad workouts in Fort Myers, Florida today. All players were required to arrive Thursday. First baseman Justin Morneau were among the last players to arrive. He is coming off a season littered with injuries including his fight with concussion symptoms. General Manager Terry Ryan says Morneau is healthy and ready to go.

Pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Fort Myers, Florida Saturday with the full squad required to report by Thursday February 23. Twins General Manager Terry Ryan says first baseman Justin Morneau and catcher Joe Mauer are both healthy. Ryan also says he expects the group of starting pitchers to succeed this season much like they did in 2010.
