The Twins lost 6-2 to the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday night in the first game of a 4-game series at Target Field. Jason Marquis allowed 7 hits and 5 earned runs in 4 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-2. Manager Ron Gardenhire wasn't happy with Marquis' strike to ball ratio. Marquis threw 86 pitches, 46 strikes and 40 balls. Josh Willingham hit a solo homerun, his 7th and Erik Komatsu had 2 hits for the Twins. Henderson Alvarez allowed 1 earned run in 7 innings to get the win for the Blue Jays.

The Twins lost 6-2 to the L.A. Angels Wednesday night. Carl Pavano threw just 4 innings with 10 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 2-3. Ervin Santana earned his first win throwing 7 1/3 innings with 6 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win. Mike Trout was 3-5 with 2 RBIs for the Angels. Josh Willingham was 2-4 with a solo homerun for the Twins and Drew Butera was 2-3 for Minnesota.
Twins End Skid With Win Over Kansas City
The Twins ended their 6-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over Kansas City at Target Field Sunday. Minnesota scored 4 runs in the first inning and added 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Josh Willingham was a homerun short of hitting for the cycle. He was 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs, Danny Valencia was 3-4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs and Ryan Doumit was 1-3 with 2 RBIs for the Twins. Jason Marquis threw 6 innings with 6 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 2-0. Bruce Chen allowed 6 earned runs in 2 2/3 innings took the loss for the Royals.
Twins Edge Rays 5-4
The Twins edged the Rays 5-4 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida Friday night. The Twins went out to a 2-0 lead before scoring 4 straight runs to lead 4-2 after 6 innings. Minnesota got a bases clearing double from Josh Willingham in the 7th inning to take a 5-4 lead. Joe Mauer went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and Jamey Carroll was 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Matt Maloney threw 1 inning of scoreless relief to get the win. Liam Hendriks threw 5 2/3 innings with 5 hits and 4 earned runs allowed. Matt Capps threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save.
Yankees Beat Twins, Liriano 8-3
The Twins lost 8-3 at New York to the Yankees Tuesday night. C.C. Sabathia threw 7 1/3 innings with 3 earned runs allowed to get the win. Francisco Liriano ran into trouble in the 3rd inning and threw just 2 1/3 innings with 7 hits, 5 earned runs, and 4 walks allowed to take the loss. He drops to 0-2 and his ERA swells to 11.91. Denard Span and Manager Ron Gardenhire were both ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the 3rd inning. Clete Thomas replaced Span and was 1-3 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Josh Willingham hit a solo homerun against Sabathia.
Twins Win First Game 6-5 Over Angels
The Twins won 6-5 over the L.A. Angels to earn their first win of the season Wednesday night. Chris Parmelee had a 2-run triple in the 7th inning to tie the game at 5 before Jamey Carroll's 2-out RBI single off before Twin, Latroy Hawkins in the 7th inning. Carroll has his first 2 hits as a Twin. Josh Willingham added a 2-run homerun and Joe Mauer added a RBI single.
