The Gopher men's basketball team lost both games last week to the two worst teams in the Big Ten and talks of Richard Pitino being replaced after the season seems to be gaining momentum. He says one hurdle for the University is buying out the remaining portion of Pitino's contract while the University is hurting for money due to the pandemic.

The 21st ranked Gopher men's basketball team won their 3rd game in a row and 9th this season 81-56 over #17 Michigan State Monday night at Williams Arena. The Gophers led 36-16 at halftime and outscored the Spartans 45-40 in the 2nd half. Minnesota dominated the boards outrebounding Michigan State 52-36.

The Timberwolves won 129-127 in overtime at Dallas against the Mavericks Thursday night. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says the Wolves' best players are their guards and wings which could lead them to playing a lot of smaller lineups this season.

The Gopher men's basketball team failed to score in the final 5 minutes and they lost 58-55 at home to #21 Iowa Sunday. The Hawkeyes closed the game on a 11-0 run to defeat Minnesota.

The University of Minnesota men's hockey team defeated the Wisconsin Badgers in game one of the weekend's border battle series.

He said the Gophers just didn't shoot the ball well enough and you can't expect to get calls from the officials on the road in the Big Ten.

The Gopher men's basketball team lost 70-52 at home against #11 Michigan State Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena. Minnesota trailed by 8 at halftime and only got as close at 6 points in the 2nd half.

The University of Minnesota men's hockey team opened their first weekend series of 2020 with a loss on the road to Michigan State University on Friday.
