The Twins trailed Cleveland 1-0 after 2 innings when rain forced a delay and then a postponement. No makeup date has been scheduled yet but the Twins do return to Cleveland September 23-25. The Twins begin a 3-game series at Detroit tonight at 6:05, pregame on WJON at 5:35. Francisco Liriano, one of the upcoming young pitchers in the game back in 2006, has become one of the biggest disappointments of a Twins season filled with many. The question is will anyone offer anything for him as a free agent?
The Twins are 7 games back of Detroit for first place in the American League Central with 2 months remaining and a week to go before the Major League Baseball trading deadline. The Twins should finally cut bait on Liriano, Slowey and Delmon Young. Liriano is inconsistent and doesn't keep the team in the game half of the time. Kevin Slowey doesn't want to be here and his value doesn't seem to be increasing.
