Cathedral Boys Basketball

The Cathedral boys basketball team won their first round game in section 5AA 71-34 over Spectrum Thursday night at Cathedral. The Crusaders improve to 22-5 and will play Rockford at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Saturday night at 6pm in the sub-section quarterfinals.

Boys Basketball: Cathedral 74, Apollo 70 (overtime) (Joe Burt led the Crusaders with 27 points. Brett Maslonkowski led Apollo with 22 points) Rocori 61, Fergus Falls 44 (Nate Meyer led Rocori with 18 points)

Cathedral 77, Albany 50 (Joe Burt scored 23 points and becomes the all-time leading scorer in Cathedral boys basketball history. He surpassed Rich Rennie) Tech 54, Monticello 44 (Alex Matchinsky led the Tigers with 27 points)

Tech 67, Cathedral 62 (Andy Foley led Tech with 20 points and Joe Burt led Cathedral with 23 points. Tech is 9-8 while Cathedral is 12-4) Sartell-St. Stephen 53, Apollo 48 (Tim Immelman had 11 points for Sartell. Brett Maslonkowski had 12 points for Apollo)

Boys Basketball: #7 Cathedral 81, Little Falls 67 (Joe Burt led the Crusaders with 21 points and Bjorn Bjorklund added 13 points)

Cathedral 81, Princeton 34 (Scottie Rucks had 29 points for the Crusaders). Apollo 68, Bemidji 59 (Reid Evans scored 19 points for the Eagles)

Girls Basketball: Cathedral 53, Maple Lake 50 (Steph Waletzko and Jenna Januschka each had 16 points for the Crusaders). Princeton 54, Apollo 48 (Melissa Gebhardt had 16 points for the Eagles. Apollo is 2-9)

Hopkins 92, Tech 54 (Andy Foley led the Tigers with 19 points) Cathedral 78, Sartell-St. Stephen 51 (Brady Schmidt led the Crusaders with 20 points and Joe Burt had 15 for Cathedral. Tim Immelman led the Sabres with 18 points)

Zimmerman 60, Cathedral 59 (Bjorn Bjorklund led Cathedral with 22 points and Scotti Rucks added 13 points for the Crusaders) Rogers 71, Tech 60 (Kevin Heysse led Tech with 21 points. Tech is 2-2)
