St. Cloud State head coach Bob Motzko says the Huskies are targeting November 23 for the return of senior forward Ben Hanowski. Hanowski has been out with an undisclosed head injury since October 27 when to took a hit to the boards against Minnesota State-Mankato.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team will play without one of their top players Ben Hanowski this week against 6th ranked North Dakota. Hanowski took a hard hit against Minnesota State-Mankato on October 27. Hanowski's injury has not been disclosed and he was re-evaluated this week. Head coach Bob Motzko wouldn't disclose the injury but it's suspected to be head related.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team will open the WCHA season this weekend at home against Minnesota State-Mankato this Friday and Saturday. SCSU hosts the Mavericks at 7:37 Friday night and at 7:07 on Saturday night. St. Cloud State is 2-2-0 after sweeping Alabama-Huntsville 8-3 and 4-0 last weekend. MSU-Mankato is 2-0-2 this season. Mankato tied and beat Huntsville 2 weeks ago.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team will host the University of Alabama-Huntsville Friday and Saturday nights at the National Hockey Center in their home openers. The Huskies are 0-2 after dropping a pair of games at New Hampshire last weekend. Sophomore Ryan Faragher is the top goaltender this season with Mike Lee graduating. The Huskies return Drew LeBlanc, and Ben Hanowski amongst others.

St. Cloud State President Earl Potter confirmed at a press conference today that SCSU will accept the invitation of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference and join when the conference starts play in the 2013-2014 season. SCSU has spent the last 22 seasons in the WCHA and will spend two more years in the WCHA before leaving. St. Cloud State President Earl Potter said the decision was tough to leave the conference but is was the best move for the University.
