Vikings’ Simpson Should Play Sunday at Washington
The Vikings got some good news on receiver Jerome Simpson Wednesday and he's now expected to play at Washington Sunday. Simpson doesn't need surgery for the back problem that caused weakness and numbness in his lower left leg. He played sparingly against Tennessee because of the injury on Sunday. Viking head coach Leslie Frazier says "all indications are" that Simpson will be fine to face Washington Sunday.
Vikings Top Titans 30-7 to Improve to 4-1
The Vikings improved to 4-1 after a 30-7 win at home against the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon. Percy Harvin ran for a touchdown in the first half and had 8 catches for 108 yards including a 2nd half touchdown catch. Adrian Peterson ran for 88 yards on 17 carries and had 3 catches for 15 yards. Christian Ponder threw for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. The 2 interceptions for Ponder are his first 2 of the season.
Vikings Win at Detroit 20-13
The Vikings won 20-13 at Detroit Sunday to improve to 3-1 on the season. Percy Harvin started the game with a 105-yard kickoff return touchdown and Marcus Sherels returned a punt 77-yards for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Blair Walsh made 2 of 3 field goals and Adrian Peterson ran for 102 yards on 21 carries for the Vikings. Christian Ponder was 16-26 for 111 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. Jerome Simpson in his first game this season had 4 catches for 50 yards.
Vikings Upset 49ers 24-13
The Vikings improved to 2-1 Sunday with a stunning 24-13 win at home against the previously San Francisco 49ers. Minnesota jumped out to a 17-3 haltime lead and never trailed. Christian Ponder threw for 198 yards and 2 touchdowns and had a 23-yard touchdown run for the Vikings. Adrian Peterson ran for 86 yards on 25 carries and had 2 catches for 21 yards.

Colts Edge Vikings 23-20
The Vikings lost 23-20 at Indianapolis Sunday afternoon to drop to 1-1. The Vikings scored 2 4th quarter touchdowns to tie the game at 20 with :31 left. Andrew Luck moved the Colts down field to set up the 53-yard game-winning field goal for Adam Vinatieri. Christian Ponder was 27-35 passing for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions.
Vikings’ Peterson Sore But Ready For Week 2
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson admitted his reconstructed left knee was sore and somewhat painful days after the game Sunday but he has practiced in full the last 2 days and expects to play Sunday at Indianapolis. Peterson declared himself 95 percent healthy and expects to be back to 100 percent soon. Viking head coach Leslie Frazier stopped short of saying Peterson will get a full workload this Sunday.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson was a full participant in practice Wednesday. Peterson has not experienced pain or soreness to his reconstructed left knee. He had 17 carries for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Vikings in their 26-23 overtime win over Jacksonville on Sunday. Peterson is expected to play this Sunday at Indianapolis but isn't expected to get the full workload.
Vikings, Peterson Edge Jaguars 26-23 In Overtime
The Vikings nearly gave away a game that appeared to be theirs with just seconds left when Blaine Gabbert threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts with :20 left. Viking quarterback Christian Ponder completed a pair of passes setting up kicker Blair Walsh for a 55-yard field goal. Walsh made the kick and made a 38-yard field goal in overtime that turned out to be the game-winner. Jacksonville got the ball once in overtime with the new overtime rule but were unable to score.
Vike’s Peterson Closer to Playing
Viking running back Adrian Peterson appears closer to being able to play Sunday when the Vikings host Jacksonville in their season opener. Peterson has been listed as limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but declared himself ready to play. Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave says they are trying to determine the amount of touches Peterson will have if he plays. AM 1500-ESPN is reporting that Peterson will get 5-10 touches Sunday.
