The Timberwolves won their preseason opener at Target Center Saturday night 117-96 over Milwaukee.  Kevin Love and Michael Beasley each scored 21 points to lead the  Wolves.  Rookie Derrick Williams had 14 points including shooting 3 for 4 from 3-point range.  Free agent signee J.J. Barea added 14 points for Minnesota and rookie Ricky Rubio added 6 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

Minnesota was hot from 3-point range making 62 % of their shots.  The Wolves will play another preseason game against Milwaukee Wednesday night at 7pm in Milwaukee.  Hear the game on WJON.
