WATKINS -- Two local teams squared off in the Class B State Amateur Baseball Tournament in Watkins on Friday night.

The Cold Spring Springers notched 13 hits en route to a 4-2 win over Beaudreau's Saints of St. Cloud.

All nine batters in Cold Spring's lineup finished with at least one hit. They were led by second baseman Garrett Fuchs, who went 4-for-5 at the plate with two RBI.

Springers catcher Ryan Holtaus added a big two-run single to add to Cold Spring's lead.

Beaudreau's came back with runs in the fifth and seventh innings, including a clutch RBI single by shortstop Steven Neutzling.

The Saints cut the Springers' lead to one, but Cold Spring starter Justin Thompson settled down to pitch the full nine innings in the win.

With the win, Cold Spring advances to the quarterfinals in the third place bracket. Their next game will be at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at their home field in Cold Spring.
