ST. CLOUD - Tech basketball star Kaila Burroughs signed a letter of intent Wednesday afternoon to play for the Denver Pioneers following her senior season.

Burroughs, a six-foot tall center, had offers from North Dakota and Central Michigan as well as Denver. She says she chose Denver because she “loves (the state of) Colorado.”

As a junior in 2012-13, Burroughs averaged just over 15 points per game with a strong game from behind the three point arc.

She says she is very excited to play for DU coach Kerry Cremeans, who she said has treated her like family since her first visit, a trait that Burroughs says will make her feel more comfortable as she is so far away from home.

Burroughs says she is looking forward to her senior season with Tech because she feels she can still compete at a high level, but also have fun on the court with such a big decision out of the way.
