ST. CLOUD - The Saint John's hockey team handed St. Thomas its first MIAC loss and clinched the #3 seed in the playoffs with a 1-0 victory on Saturday.

SJU forward Jason Johnson scored the lone goal of the game with less than four minutes remaining in regulation. It was Johnson's fifth goal of the season.

Goalie Saxton Soley picked up the second shutout of his career, making 21 saves during the action.

The Johnnies finish the regular season with a 19-4-2 overall record and 13-1-2 record in the MIAC.

SJU will be the #3 seed in next weeks MIAC playoffs and will take on Gustavus Adolphus in the semifinal round. The game is set for 7:05 p.m. on Saturday at St. Peter.
