Silver Stars Split Pair Of Games Monday

The Waite Park Silver Stars American Legion baseball teams split a pair of games Monday night at Dick Putz Field. The Silver Stars fell to Sauk Rapids 9-0 before defeating Cold Spring 8-6.

Noah Klinefelter shut down the Waite Park offense in a complete game shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out nine and walking none. Tyler Bjork led the offense by going 4-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored.

Matt Johnson was 2-3 with three runs batted in and two runs scored.

The Silver Stars bounced back in the second game behind a big night from Hunter Blommer, who went 2-3 with a solo home run and a two-run double. Jason Omann picked up the win for Waite Park despite walking seven batters.
