Gopher Women Top #12 Syracuse
The Gopher women's basketball team downed #12 Syracuse 72-68 at Williams Arena as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Gophers led 23-14 after 1 quarter and led by 5 at halftime. Syracuse took a 5-point lead in the 4th quarter before Minnesota recovered for the win.
Bennies Fall at UW-Superior
The St. Ben's basketball team lost 77-52 at UW-Superior Wednesday night to fall to 2-3. CSB trailed 26-8 at the end of the first quarter and couldn't catch up.
Johnnie Basketball Routs Bethel
St. John's basketball routed Bethel 90-55 Wednesday night in Collegeville. The Johnnies led 44-23 at halftime behind hot shooting. St. John's shot 69 percent from the field for the game which includes 71 percent shooting from 3-point range.
Twins Claim C.J. Cron
The Twins added some first baseman/DH depth by claiming C.J. Cron after he was designated for assistant by the Tampa Bay Rays last week. The 28-year old Cron batted .253 with 30 home runs and 74 RBIs playing first base and designated hitter for the Rays in 2018.
Wild Defeat Jets 4-2
The Minnesota Wild downed the Winnipeg Jets 4-2. Minnesota scored 4 3rd period goals after trailing 2-0 after 2 periods.

Johnnie Football Hosts Whitworth Saturday
St. John's football hosts Whitworth University (Washington) Saturday at noon in the 2nd round of the NCAA Division III tournament in Collegeville. The Johnnies are unbeaten at 11-0 while Whitworth is 10-0. Both teams posted dominating wins in the first round.
