ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud State maintained its lead in the NCHC and picked up a weekend sweep with a huge 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs on Saturday night.

The Huskies are now on a four game winning streak.

St. Cloud State took an early lead with a goal from Jimmy Murray thirty seconds into the first. UMD would tie the game later in the period with a goal from Caleb Herbert.

In the second, the Huskies would retake the lead thanks to a goal from Ethan Prow. SCSU would extend its lead to 3-1 later in the period with a goal from Ryan Papa.

UMD would bring the game within one near the end of the second period. Dominic Toninato scored for the Bulldogs to make it 3-2 going into the third.

The Bulldogs would tie the game at 4:56 in the third, thanks to a 5 on 3 power play advantage. Alex Iafallo scored to make it 3-3.

Jonny Brodzinski would be the hero of the game for the Huskies, scoring with under two minutes to play for the 4-3 win.

In the contest, Duluth outshot St. Cloud 41-38. Huskies goalie Ryan Faragher earned the win with 37 saves. Faragher now leads the NCHC with 15 wins this season.

St. Cloud State moves up to 17-6-5 overall and 11-4-3-0 in the NCHC. Minnesota Duluth is now 13-11-4 overall and 8-8-2-2 in the NCHC.

The Huskies will hit the road next weekend for a pair of games against Miami University. The Redhawks are currently on a four game losing streak after being swept by UND this weekend.
