The St. Cloud State men's hockey team took down North Dakota 3-1 at Ralph Englestad Arena Friday night. The win, combined with Minnesota's loss to Minnesota State, puts the Huskies in sole possession of first place.

The Huskies outshot UND 33-16 in the game and at one point led 31-9 in the shot category.

It was a banner night for St. Cloud's bumper crop of phenomenal freshmen. The Huskies struck first just under five minutes into the game on freshman Johnny Brodzinski's tenth goal of the season, assisted by freshmen Ethan Prow and Jimmy Murray.

Senior Ben Hanowski of Little Falls put home a goal for the Huskies late in the first to give SCSU a two goal lead. Assists were credited to freshman Kalle Kossila and junior Kevin Gravel.

Brodzinski scored again for St. Cloud about seven minutes in to the third period to give the Huskies the 3-0 lead, assisted by Prow and junior Nic Dowd.
