Sauk Rapids native and Minnesota State-Mankato pitcher Jason Hoppe set a new national NCAA Division II record with 55.1 consecutive scoreless innings pitched. The previous record was 54, set in 2006.

Hoppe accomplished the feat in the third inning of the Mavericks game against St. Edward's.

The 6-1 junior righthander is slated to join the St. Cloud Rox when his collegiate season is completed.
