Timberwolves Sign Rubio To Multi-Year Contract

The Timberwolves announced today that they have signed Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio to a multi-year contract.  Ricky Rubio spoke in Spain today and said "I have finally decided to start the journey" to the NBA.   He was the 5th overall pick by the Timberwolves in the 2009 NBA draft.  Rubio averaged just 5.9 points and 4.4 assists a games this past season playing for Regal Barcelona.  The Wolves have unvieled a new Ricky Rubio #9 ticket package.  In honor of his number the team is offering fans the opportunity to buy season tickets for $9 per game.  The 20-year old Rubio has been playing professionally in Spain since he was 14 years old.
