Royals Hand Twins Loss #99
The Royals handed the Twins this 99th loss this season Monday night when Kansas City rallied to beat the Twins 7-3. Minnesota led 3-1 in the 5th before Kansas City scored 4 runs in the 6th inning. Michael Cuddyer went 2-4 with a 2-run homerun, his 20th this season. Kevin Slowey started the game and allowed 10 hits and 5 earned runs in 5 2/3 innings to take the loss.
Melky Cabrera had a pair of hits for the Royals and became the first Royal since 2000 to have 200 or more hits. The Twins are 61-99 and will host Kansas City again tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40. Righthander Anthony Swarzak (3-7) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Sean O'Sullivan (2-5) toes the rubber for the Royals.
