Rocori Basketball In State Tournament Today

The Rocori boys basketball team plays top seeded Minneapolis Washburn in the Class 3A state tournament quarterfinals at Williams Arena today at 10am, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 9:50.  Ty James and Chris Chapman call the play-by-play.  Rocori is 18-11 while Washburn is 27-2.  The Spartans are big underdogs today but head coach Bob Brink says "We have a 50/50 chance of winning".  He says his kids won't lose becase of a lack of effort.  Brink is retiring after this season.  He has coached at Rocori for 42 seasons and has now sent Rocori to 13 state tournament appearances.

Minneapolis Washburn is coached by former St. Cloud State star player and former Assistant Coach Reggie Perkins.

Elsewhere in Class 3A at Williams Arena today; St. Paul Johnson vs #4 Austin at noon, Detroit Lakes vs #2 DeLaSalle at 2pm and Mankato East vs #3 Grand Rapids at 4pm.
