Have you noticed how every store now has some sort of reward or savings program? Soon your purse or wallet will be packed with nothing but cards and numbers and you feel like you can’t shop at a store without having the “Rewards Card”.

It’s to the point where you can’t even buy your items without being pressured to join a club. Sometimes, you just want to go shopping and get out quickly without this whole presentation at the checkout.

I was in a store recently and the lady would not let up on this. She asked, “Do you have our rewards card?”

“No.”

“But you won’t be able to use our coupons without it.”

“Oh, that’s ok. I don’t have time right now.”

“But it just takes a minute.”

Getting a little irritated, “I don’t have a minute, maybe next time.”

“But this item you are buying is worth 500 points.”

Ok, what the hell does this even mean?! What does 500 points equal in your little fairy tale land of rewards and coupons? A nickel? A free candy bar? I don’t know what this means and I don't care. Pretty sure we all know where I want them to stick their points!
