Everyone knows what happens the first few weeks of the New Year, right? Packed gyms filled with hopeful people looking to keep their resolutions. Don’t worry, in a month or two, those people will give up and all will be back to normal. But in the mean time, I've been seeing lots of new faces including a creepy new guy.

Usually when you’re at the gym, you’re sweaty, people are on a mission to get their workout in and move on to the rest of their day. I rarely see people just hanging out looking to chat. So, I was on the treadmill listening to my music and watching this new “creepy guy” as he’s trying to start up conversations with people. He’s just roaming free among people who are trying to stretch or lift weights. He then wanders over to my workout area.

I’m thinking, “You’ve gotta be frickin’ kidding me if this guy is going to come over and try to strike up a conversation with someone on a treadmill!” But, he does. He stands right in front of me and asks, “What are you listening to?” I pull out an earbud and answer with, “Audiobook; 102 Ways to Hide a Body.” He laughs but I’m not smiling. I put my earbud back in and continue on with my workout. He slowly turns and heads for the locker room. He looks back before he enters through the door; I wave. I don’t think he’ll be back.
