On Thursday night at about 11:20 p.m. 20-year-old Colton Gleason of Greenfield was walking in an alley in the 600 block between 8th and 9th Avenue when a car pulled up, a group of people got out, one of them threw a single punch, which caused Gleason to fall to the ground, and hit his head.  He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where he died on Friday.  Police Chief Blair Anderson says there were a lot of witnesses, and they need them to come forward.

The suspect car is described as a light colored four door mid to full size older vehicle.  It was occupied by five to seven people, including one female and several males.  They were all in their late teens to early 20's, and are a mix of white and black races.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 251-1200 or call the Tri-County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-255-1301.

Gleason was not a student at St. Cloud State University, his Facebook page indicates he attended Minnesota State-Mankato.  Chief Anderson says he was in town visiting friends at the time of the incident.
