ML Baseball Results; A’s, Giants Stay Alive
The Oakland A's and San Francisco Giants stayed alive in the Major League Baseball playoffs Tuesday. Oakland downed Detroit 2-0 Tuesday led by starting pitcher Brett Anderson's 6 shutout innings. Seth Smith hit a solo homerun and Yoenis Cespedes had a RBI single for the A's. Detroit leads the series 2 games to 1 and Oakland hosts the Tigers at 8:37 tonight in game 4.
San Francisco beat Cincinnati 2-1 in 10 innings Tuesday. Homer Bailey threw 7 innings with 1 earned run allowed and 10 strikeouts for the Reds. Sergio Romo threw 2 shutout innings of relief to get the win for the Giants. Buster Posey scored the go-ahead run on an error from Scott Rolen for the Giants in the 10th inning. The Reds lead the series 2 games to 1 and will host Game 4 at 3:07 this afternoon.
St. Louis will play Washington in game 3 of their NLDS series at 12:07 today. The series is tied at 1 game apiece.
