Mariners Hand Twins 9th Straight Loss 5-2
The Twins lost 5-2 to the Seattle Mariners Monday night to suffer their 9th straight loss. Michael Pineda threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed to get the win for Mariners. Scott Baker allowed 7 hits and 4 earned runs in 6 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-3. Jason Kubel and Michael Cuddyer were each 1-4 with 1 run scored for Minnesota at the plate. The win snaps a 6-game losing streak for the Mariners. The Twins are 12-27 (worst record in baseball) and are 13 1/2 games back of Cleveland for first place in the American League Central.
