The Granite City Lumberjacks have announced their first annual Veterans Night game, with proceeds to benefit the Defending the Blue Line organization. DTBL is a national organization that helps military families stay involved with hockey.

The 'Jacks will host the Minnesota Flying Aces Monday night with a 7:30 start time at Sports Arena East. All veterans past and present will be admitted to the game free of charge with valid military ID.

Among the pregame festivities planned are an appearance by the Color Guard on the ice and a special performance of the National Anthem.

During the game fans can check out the silent auction items throughout the arena, including a signed Alex Ovechkin jersey, Minnesota Wild tickets and a special Granite City Lumberjacks team photo.

Following the game, fans will be able to bid on special USA themed jerseys worn during the game by the Lumberjacks.
