LITTLE FALLS -- The Granite City Lumberjacks scored five goals in the second period en route to a resounding 7-0 win over the Minnesota Flying Aces on Saturday.

Lucas Carroll opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks with a first period goal that gave Granite City a 1-0 lead.

Carroll would score again in the second period -- along with Michael Piehler, Kevin Finley, Isaac Koniena, and Matt Flom -- to take a 6-0 lead over the Flying Aces.

Andrej Jemnicky would add another goal for the Jacks in the final period to make the score 7-0.

In all, Granite City bombarded Minnesota goalies with 43 shots in the game, compared to only 17 against Lumberjacks goalie Nathan Isaacson -- which were all stoppped.

With the win, Granite City improves to 4-1 on the season. The Lumberjacks will host to Wisconsin Whalers for two games next weekend at Amarillo Deck Arena in Sauk Rapids.
